Editorial Policy

1. The mission of the journal

MKD revue is a scientific and professional journal whose aim is to promote and disseminate the results of research and professional knowledge in the field of mediamatics, documentation of cultural heritage and its presentation in new media. The journal also serves to popularize cultural heritage and new media in order to raise awareness and promote innovation in these fields

2. Areas of interest

The journal focuses on a wide range of topics including, but not limited to:

  • Mediamatics and digital technologies
  • Documentation and digital preservation of cultural heritage
  • Presentation of cultural heritage in new media
  • The use of new media for education and popularization of cultural heritage
  • Innovations in digital imaging and multimedia
  • Interdisciplinary approaches to the study and presentation of cultural heritage
  • Cultural and creative industries
  • Presentation of research in the field of tangible and intangible cultural heritage

3. Types of articles accepted

The MKD Review accepts various types of articles including:

  • Original research studies
  • Review articles and meta-analyses
  • Practice cases and case studies
  • Commentaries and editorials
  • Letters to the Editor
  • Book reviews and multimedia works
  • Event reports

4. Review process

Scientific and scholarly articles undergo a double anonymous peer review process, which means that the reviewers do not know the identity of the authors and vice versa. This process guarantees the objectivity and impartiality of the evaluation. The reviewers are selected on the basis of their expertise in the field and their task is to assess the quality, originality, scientific and scholarly value of the articles submitted. The authors themselves are responsible for the linguistic culture and content of the papers. The editorial board decides on the acceptance and publication of an article.

5. Ethical Principles

MKD Review is guided by the highest ethical standards in scientific publishing. Authors are required to adhere to the principles of scientific integrity, including:

  • Transparent and responsible research
  • Respect for copyright and intellectual property
  • Avoiding and declaring conflicts of interest
  • Maintaining the anonymity and confidentiality of research subjects

6. Copyright and open access

MKD journal supports open access to scientific knowledge. Authors retain copyright of their articles and agree to publish them under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, which allows free distribution and adaptation of works provided attribution is given.

7. Instructions to authors

Authors are requested to follow the guidelines for manuscript preparation and submission, which are available on the journal’s website. The guidelines include manuscript formatting, article structure, citation of sources, and other technical requirements.
